After graduating as a management engineer from the Solvay Brussels School and completing an MBA at Columbia Business School, Laurent Hublet began his career in strategic consulting at the Boston Consulting Group, supporting major organisations across Europe, Latin America and Africa. He later joined the cabinet of Deputy Prime Minister Alexander De Croo (2014–2018), contributing to the Digital Belgium strategy. As a committed entrepreneur in education and innovation, he co‑founded BeCentral, the digital campus at Brussels Central Station, as well as BeCode, a free programming school active in several Belgian cities. He also teaches at the Solvay Brussels School, where he serves as vice‑dean for lifelong learning, and contributes as a columnist for L’Écho and La Première. Deeply attached to Brussels, he launched the citizen platform “I am Brussels” before entering politics in 2023 with Les Engagés. Appointed to the board of the RTBF in 2024 (a position he stepped down from in 2025), he became minister on 14 February 2026, with the ambition of using his experience at the crossroads of employment, the economy and the digital sector to create more jobs, strengthen Brussels’ economy and prepare the Region for future digital and social transformations.
