An expert in space policy, diplomacy and history, drawing on a long experience in the conduct of space affairs in Europe, international cooperation and intergovernmental negotiations, acquired at the European Space Agency (ESA), Nathalie Tinjod is currently in charge of global space cooperation. Having held various positions in the Director General’s cabinet, she joined the External Relations Department in 2017.
Her career began in 1996 after multidisciplinary doctoral studies at the European University Institute (EUI), funded by the European Union, which also allowed her to take over the direction of the ESA History Project and to chair the History Advisory Committee (ACHA) of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF). Auditor of the IHEDN, she is also a specialist in defence and security issues, a reservist to the Chief of Staff of the French Air and Space Force, and an ESA ambassador to the media. She authored many publications.
