Dr. Yann Laurans is a biodiversity and water economist. He oversees the activities of the foundation with regard to ocean, wildlife, forests, agriculture and water, in France, overseas territories, and abroad on the WWF France’s priority landscapes (e.g. Congo basin) He was previously the biodiversity director of IDDRI, an environmental think tank. He worked in the field of globalised markets and the biodiversity, land-take, nature-based solutions and on the multilateral governance of biodiversity. His career was, before that, devoted to biodiversity economics as an independent expert, a consulting manager, or a chief economist in a public bank devoted to water policy. His personal research activities deal with the link between economic valuation and environmental decision-making. He teaches at the Paris School of International Affairs (Sciences Po).
