Viva Technology becomes VivaTech, marking the entry into a new dimension – bolder, more influential and resolutely forward-looking. To celebrate this anniversary, VivaTech is setting up shop on ‘the most beautiful avenue in the world’ in partnership with the Comité Champs-Élysées, transforming it into an immersive, educational and entertaining open-air experience that is free and free for one and all.
In 2026, the geopolitical landscape continues to shape the global tech landscape, with issues of sovereignty taking center stage and affecting every tech sector. The AI, defense and cybersecurity sectors are opening up new avenues for innovation, both on the European continent and across the Atlantic, in Africa and Asia.
In 2026, VivaTech is partnering with Bloomberg to inaugurate a new global awards platform to recognize the companies, founders and leaders shaping the future of technology. And other awards are still celebrating innovation and innovators with trophies such as the Innovation of the Year award, the AfricaTech award, the Female Founder award, the Tech for Change award or the Next Startupper award...
As geopolitical tensions escalate, Defense and Cybersecurity are reshaping innovation priorities, capital flows, and industrial strategies worldwide. These technologies are proliferating, pushing startups, investors, and governments to redefine their roles in a rapidly evolving security landscape. Defense is reconfiguring the innovation model, with startups and scale-ups actively positioning themselves, while private capital complements public funding to strengthen ecosystems. By 2030, European NATO members are set to spend €800 billion on Defense—a €300 billion increase from 2025 (source: McKinsey, November 2025).
Since its first edition, VivaTech has been committed to harnessing the potential of technology to drive tangible progress for the environment and society. This is reflected in our CSR commitments, which aim to inspire, take action, and build a more sustainable and equitable future. In 2024, VivaTech became the first ISO 20-121-certified tech event, and in 2026 we will continue to reduce our environmental footprint, work toward more inclusive and diverse technological solutions, take on an educational and influential role, and strengthen our community.
DeepTech is reinventing industries through major scientific breakthroughs and redefining the equation of progress, shaping the next generation of technologies that will transform our lives. In 2026, VivaTech will focus on space exploration and quantum computing, one of the major technological revolutions of the 21st century, which promises spectacular advances in cybersecurity, such as ultra-fast detection of attacks or tamper-proof communications thanks to post-quantum cryptography (PQC), but which also threatens to render current encryption standards obsolete, exposing sensitive data, critical infrastructure, and privacy to unprecedented risks.
For 10 years, VivaTech has been open to the general public on the final Saturday— a unique initiative in the events and tech sector. For this year’s 10th anniversary edition, this now-traditional public day has been completely reimagined as the VivaTech Festival, a day when VivaTech becomes a 70,000 m² stage open to the future.

This edition of VivaTech celebrates a 10-year collective adventure—that of VivaTech's founding partners, who believed in this project from the very beginning; that of the startups, who saw VivaTech as a unique opportunity; that of the major corporations, committed to open innovation; and that of the investors, institutions, and public decision-makers, who have made it a place where ideas turn into action.
