Dr. Camille François is the founding president of ROOST (Robust Open Online Safety Tools) and an Assistant Professor of Practice at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. She held senior roles across social media, cybersecurity, and gaming, including Principal Researcher at Google, Senior Director at Niantic, and Chief Innovation Officer at Graphika, building teams to detect and mitigate online harms at scale, from child safety to violent extremism. Her public interest work includes investigating information operations for the U.S. Senate Select Intelligence Committee, leading France's inquiry into immersive technologies, and co-chairing, appointed by President Macron, the national consultative assembly on the future of the information society. Her research focuses on public interest AI and open source. Recognized by TIME's "100 Next" and MIT Tech Review's "35 Under 35," she is a Fulbright Scholar and Faculty Affiliate at Harvard's Berkman-Klein Center.
