Damien Lucas

At the beginning of 2023, Damien Lucas joined Scaleway, the cloud provider of the iliad Group, as Chief Executive Officer, with one objective: to turn it into a European hyperscaler. This ambition is taking shape notably through the deployment of the largest AI computing capacity in Europe, but also through expansion beyond France’s borders. Lucas’s conviction: Europe urgently needs high-performance and competitive cloud providers capable of ensuring the long-term sustainability of its industry and innovation. A graduate of CentraleSupélec, one of France’s leading engineering schools, Lucas is a seasoned entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience in the tech ecosystem. While still a student, he joined the development team of VLC Media Player and led the transition of the software to open source. In 2003, he co-founded Anevia, a video streaming software developer, which was acquired by Ateme in 2020.
